Its been a pretty cold winter so far, with mornings starting off at almost -20C. Wife said the Enclave was somewhat difficult to start, and actually didn't start once or twice while attempting to crank. WebbThe relay coil should be in the 3-6 ohm range. 0 ohms is bad, 15 ohms is bad. The relay terminals should be ∞ ohms when off, and should be 0 ohms when activated. Webb31 juli 2016 · Recently the engine has been slow to start/turn over. Does not happen every time, but it is becoming more frequent. Most of the time it just require me to turn the key to run position momentarily. Some time I need to hold the key switch 1-2 seconds before it will turn over. No grinding.

But it is slow to crank, but catches and then starts. This is not normal for the truck. Grounds are all done, I am wondering if its the starter relay or the starter solenoid itself. Usually a slow cranking of the starter would indicate a low charged battery or the battery not taking a charge.
Webb15 okt. 2013 · Do not crank more than twenty seconds at a time with a long cool down time for the starter between attempts. And do not use starting fluid. Some owners have used a gas soaked rag to help the truck to initially fire up, but this takes two people and the one holding the rag needs to make sure it does not get sucked into the intake. If the battery is good, the slow crank is due to a poor connection somewhere, or a worn out starter.
