WebDec 4, 2011 · CP3 drops rail pressure as it is spinning slowly at idle speed due to faulty injector (s), but I suppose has more normalized pressure at high engine rpm as it can better keep up with the demand.. Also a valve lash can be loose. Valve lash adjustment should be done around 100 to 115k. It's driven off the engine, and has the ability to still "suck" the fuel it needs even without a lift pump (not recommended, bad for pump!) It only makes noise when I'm below 1/8th tank of fuel. As soon as I fill up, the CP3 is quiet again.
