So im in the process of building a t bucket, the motor im using is a 454 Gen VI that I got from a motorhome. Question is , Im changing it to carb and wondering if the intake manifold and disturber from any older model can work with this block? WebMay 21, 2010 · A 454 is a stroked 427. If you are going to change the crank and pistons you might as well stroke the 454 to a 496 ! X2 You already have a 454, why do you want to give up displacement? On an average street performance big block build, you would probably be giving up at least 30 hp and about that much torque. On the street, torque is what you want.
